Missing Beaverton Nurse Found Dead; Neighbor Arrested for Murder
Body of Missing Nurse Found
The body of a missing Beaverton nurse has been found, and a neighbor has been arrested for her murder. The victim, 27-year-old Ashley Pond, was last seen leaving her apartment complex on the evening of July 5. Her body was found in a wooded area near her home on July 7.
The suspect, 34-year-old James Michael Cruz, was arrested on July 8. He has been charged with murder and is being held in the Washington County Jail.
Investigation Ongoing
The investigation into Pond's death is ongoing. Police have not released many details about the case, but they say they believe Cruz acted alone and that there is no threat to the public.
