Bottas Disqualified After Insufficient Fuel Sample

Max Verstappen claimed pole position for the 2023 British Grand Prix, leading a McLaren one-two ahead of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The Dutchman set a time of 1:17.006 on his final lap to secure his fifth consecutive pole position, while Norris and Piastri will start second and third respectively.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc qualified fourth and fifth for Ferrari, while Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will line up sixth and seventh for Mercedes. Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top 10.

Valtteri Bottas was excluded from qualifying after his Alfa Romeo failed to provide a one-litre fuel sample. The Finn had originally qualified 12th, but his disqualification promotes Lance Stroll to 11th and Alex Albon to 12th.

The race will start at 3pm BST on Sunday.
