Edmonton Oilers Force Game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals
The Edmonton Oilers are in the Stanley Cup Final for the eighth time in franchise history and first since they lost to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2022.
The Oilers forced Game 7 with a 4-3 overtime victory in Game 6 on Sunday night.
The Oilers got off to a good start in the game, taking a 2-0 lead in the first period. However, the Panthers came back to tie the game in the second period. The Oilers then took a 3-2 lead in the third period, but the Panthers tied the game again with just over a minute remaining in regulation.
The game went to overtime, and the Oilers won it on a goal by Connor McDavid just over two minutes into the extra period.
The Oilers will now head back to Edmonton for Game 7 on Wednesday night. The Panthers will need to win the game to win the Stanley Cup. The Oilers will be looking to win their first Stanley Cup since 1990.
